Extend the life of your garment

Taking care of your garments properly will extend their lifespan. Always follow the garment's washing instructions. We have collected some tips for our clothes from Olars Ulla here. Under each product you can also find the garment's specific washing instructions.

LINEN

Linen shrinks during the first wash. That's why all our linen garments are washed during production, so when you receive your new linen garments from Olars Ulla, they won't shrink any more.

When it's time to wash, we recommend:

- Turn all garments inside out, and button any coats.

- Please use an environmentally friendly detergent

- Avoid fabric softener and bleach

To preserve the products for as long as possible, and of course also for environmental reasons, we recommend washing at as low a temperature as possible, but no more than 40 degrees.

Stretch the garment when wet. Tumble drying should be done at low temperatures. It is also possible to hang dry linen, the garment may feel a little stiff when dried, but will quickly soften again when used.

WOOL

Wool is a natural material with fantastic properties that are perfect for the Nordic climate. Wool fibers are self-cleaning and have antibacterial properties. Wool therefore naturally repels foreign substances and releases dirt. For wool, airing is the only care required. And that is especially beneficial in humid weather.

When a knitted wool garment needs to be washed, we recommend:

- Hand wash at max 30 degrees

- Please use a detergent intended for wool.

- Never use fabric softener

Gently squeeze out the water by hand. If it is very wet, you can roll the garment in a terry towel and squeeze out the water. Then let the garment dry flat. Wool garments should never be tumble dried.

Pilling occurs on knitted wool garments when the smallest wool fibers in the yarn come loose and small balls are created on the surface. This mainly happens in places where friction occurs. If the pilling is carefully removed over time, the pilling usually subsides as the small fibers disappear.

The advantage of wool naps from 100% wool is that they are easily removed without affecting the quality of the garment.

FOR OUR WOOL COATS, GENTLE DRY CLEANING (WITH ETRACHLOROETHYLENE -P) IS APPLICABLE.
